It requires a lot of creative thinking and a proper knowledge about kitchen storage solutions. Our customers were not satisfied with their old kitchen as it was very out-dated and dysfunctional. Even though their kitchen was very small, they wanted a kitchen where they could store all their clutter and looked exclusively modern. During our design meeting, I had noticed their rustic storage unit that they purchased from an antique store. This antique furniture had inspired our team to use some of its design elements into the kitchen design. The cross design from the unit was repeated on the glass window frame using rustic glass. Doors were hand carved out of poplar material to add a distressed rustic look. To make a nice flow in the design we made floating shelves, which were hanged each side of the stove and fridge area. The rest of the kitchen was painted high gloss warm gray color that matched nicely with the distressed rustic chocolate stain. Our clients said they like to entertain and therefore, not to lose any space we decided to make a small opening beside the fridge into a wine rack with tray storage underneath. After their first birthday party event at their house they received many positive feedback from their friends and family. Our clients were very pleased with all the feedback and they’ve told us that, “this kitchen looks so good we want to sleep in here” It was a small but very exciting project for all of our team. And the feedback is priceless. Why I like the CMA – Being a member of CMA give us an opportunity to learn and explore what other are doing and how they are doing it.
