Category – Library Face Frame Under $25K
Project Description – Cabinets are all face frame construction with 3/4” plywood decks, tops, partitions and finished ends. Unfinished ends, sub ends behind panelized ends, and backs are all 1/2” plywood. Face frame stock is cut to length on a Hitachi miter saw with a Tiger Stop fence, pocket holed on a Kreg pocket hole machine and assembled on a Kreg framing table. Panels are cut on a Felder format sliding table saw with a Tiger fence. Panels are pocket holed on a Kreg drill and are glued and screwed together after being dadoed. Cabinets are sanded after being assembled so decks can be sanded flush to the face frames. Cabinets are finished with a Kremlin 10-14 pump. The finish used in this project is a multi step finish including dyes, wiping stain, glazes, and toners Framing for paneling was milled and finished in the shop then cut and fitted on site. Unusual Aspects – The top panels on all the walls are a fabric covered homasote so push pins can be used anywhere in the upper tier of paneling Why I like the CMA – Being a member of the CMA has given us access to a wealth of information and resources that have allowed us to become more professional and better at what we do. |
