Custom Creative Furniture (Duluth, GA)
Main Category: Residential Bar
Sub Category: Face Frame Dollar Amount: Under $25,000 Briefly describe your business and the type of products manufactured. I design, construct, finish and install custom cabinetry. All cabinetry is constructed with plywood and solid hardwoods. The type of cabinetry includes: kitchens, vanities, bars, entertainment centers, bookcases and other furniture. What materials/species were used in this project/item? The bar was constructed with solid maple and maple plywood. I design the layout. The corbels are maple, radius bar rail is solid maple with a maple plywood top. There is a brass foot rail. LG refrigerator, double oven (brand?), dishwasher, beverage center. Describe, in detail, the project/item’s construction. The design of the bar was two fold, first they wanted it to fell more like a bar and less like a kitchen. even though there is a dishwasher, refrigerator and double oven. We choose to put the dishwasher in the serving side of the bar to hide it some and the beverage center in the rear to be visible. There was also some restriction with the door and wall build out. The customer wanted the bar rail to radius out and wrap around the end the bar. What is the most unusual aspect or outstanding characteristic of this entry? The overall look of the bar, with the glass doors, stem ware rack but the bar top with the radius bump out and curved bar rail is the most impressive part. The curved portion of the bar rail was manufactured out of solid maple in two sections. I had to design a template of the exact size of the top to figure the radius of the curved section of the bar rail. List any items that were outsourced (not produced by you or your shop). The basement was a total finish project. Kristen Pierce, Jill of All Trades, was the general contractor coordinating the project. The only thing there was some studs and a fireplace. We were able to layout the space and build the bar from my design with the customers input. The doors, drawer fronts, and dovetailed drawer box’s where ordered from my specification from Harris Door and Drawer, accessories including hinges and drawer slides, where purchased from HGH Hardware Supply; Brass Foot rail was purchased from Outwater Plastics; bar rail and crown molding including radius bar rail was ordered from Pierce and Pierce Millwork. All cabinetry was produced from my drawings using KCD software. We mill the face frames and cut all cabinetry parts, assemble, finish and install finished product. We used Blummotion soft close hinges and KV MUV soft close under mount slides. The knobs and pulls were selected by the customer from Richelieu. Corbels were purchased from Osborne Wood Products.
