Simplicity of Design This kitchen project was designed for a new build house in a luxurious neighborhood of Toronto. The house was built for a couple that liked the beauty of simplicity. They wanted to keep it simple and bring out only certain details throughout the house. To keep the look as simple as possible we picked a shaker Chicago door style that had a small detail going vertically on each door. Decorative posts and the hood was custom made with the same molding that linked overall to the look of the kitchen. The attention was emphasized to a simple clean backsplash since it has no electrical outlets on it just clean looking tiles and all the outlets where mounted under the cabinets. The focal point is the decorative hood vent that was covered with wood to have the consistency of painted cabinets above. The size and the details of the hood bring the attention to the main focal point that is also highlighted by their four foot freestanding Thermador range. Two pull out cabinets are placed on each side of the stove; one for spices and the other one is for oils. There are a lot of glass cabinets with glass shelves and pot lights inside them. They like to entertain and have people over on the weekend and when it’s dark outside the glass cabinets really make the kitchen bright and entertaining.
