What is the most unusual aspect or outstanding characteristic of this entry?
The beautiful element of this kitchen is a massive window that brightens the area and makes the kitchen light and welcoming. This is a new construction and this window was placed very close to the corner and designed so big that it would not fit another cabinet at the very end and the whole kitchen cabinets and window looked unfinished not having end piece. Customer went to few places and they where suggested to leave the window separate and put casing as the rest of the house, they did not like that idea and kept looking. We understood that customers want to have a window valance and we decided to design the window and make it look like its part of the cabinetry stained same color. After the kitchen was done nobody noticed that this window looked as it was meant to be this way. The kitchen was made out of Maple select wood and stained in light cherry orange color with black glaze that gave it more texture and flow. Since there were not too many decorative details we picked Manhattan raised panel door that made the kitchen look busier and more ornamental. Decorative posts where placed on the main focal points; fridge and pantry, sink, stove and on each side of the island. Island was very narrow because they like a lot of space and the option of having two cooks later on in the future. Island could also function as a second prep area; it has enough space for preparation as well as a small sink.
