Scott Robeson Custom Woodworking (Lander, WY)
Main Category: Furniture
Sub Category: Other Dollar Amount: Under $25,000 What materials/species were used in this project/item? I used a reclaimed cedar root, reclaimed pine boards, tempered custom glass, authentic elk antlers, pine cones, a rock where one had been embedded originally, and Minwax oil-based poly. Describe, in detail, the project/item’s construction. I used my Husqvarna chainsaw, a band sawmill, my Festool sander, a sandblaster, my Grizzly planer, jointer, and table saw, and my Porter Cable router. What is the most unusual aspect or outstanding characteristic of this entry? This is a very unusual piece in general. I designed it for the Red Canyon Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. They auctioned off at the annual dinner. It raised $3,800. The national chapter has asked us to do one for the Vegas show in December. List any items that were outsourced. I gave the glass company a template, and they cut the glass and had it tempered for me. The rest I did in house. How being a member of the CMA has benefited you and/or your business. We have not only enjoyed getting to know other members, but we also have had wonderful advertising as a result of the CMA Wood Diamond contests. It was great meeting other members in Atlanta at the IWF, too! |
