Briefly describe your business and the type of products manufactured.
We design, manufacture, finish and install custom cabinetry. Our cabinetry is mostly residential and includes, kitchens, bars, bookcases, vanities, entertainment centers and many other types of custom cabinetry.

What materials/species were used in this project/item?
Materials for this project include, solid maple fronts, white birch plywood and natural maple doors and drawers.

Describe, in detail, the project/item's construction
The face frames are not only assembled with glue and pocket screws, but also attached to the boxes the same way. There are no nail holes in the face of the frames. All drawers and doors are soft close. All drawer boxes are dovetailed. For this project all the doors and drawers fronts are inset. All adjustable shelving is 3/4" plywood with a molding applied to the front edge.

What is the most unusual aspect or outstanding characteristic of this entry?
Inset doors and drawer fronts are always a challenge. It requires extra attention to details from the construction of the boxes and face frames, to the installation of the fronts. There is very little margin for error. This kitchen has an almost 10' long island by 5' wide. The cabinetry on that size of island had to be level and square to support the top. The end panels were extended to not only help with the support of the granite top, but also encompass the area for seating. The granite top has a laminated edges to simulate the 4" thickness. Some of the other challenges were where the stove is recessed and the wall restrict the other cabinetry. To give the seamless look, we worked hard to get the exact dimensions so that the refrigerator and pantry cabinets would be on the corners so to speak, and work out to the main corner of the room. In this particular instance, the owners decided to panel the refrigerator after the cabinetry was built. They chose a totally different refrigeration unit. We had to remove the refrigerator cabinet, add 2 inches to the rear of the cabinet, reinstall it and install the panels on the refrigerator and freezer doors, and install new crown molding. the two doors to the back right of the kitchen actually open to walk in pantry that wraps around behind the range. Another challenge was designing a vent hood that would allow access to the blower unit connections. The upper inset door is actual a panel that can be opened allowing access to the blower unit vent pipe and electrical connections.
