This piece was produced from solid white oak and white oak plywood. The back of piece uses antique mirrored glass. Describe, in detail, the project/item's construction The face frames are assembled with pocket screws and attached to the cabinetry using the same method. The drawers are dovetailed. The doors and drawers are soft close. The doors are cope and stick construction. The table top has waterfall ends and is constructed of 8 quarter white oak with mitered edges. It was constructed to fit over a custom designed steel base. What is the most unusual aspect or outstanding characteristic of this entry? The most unusual aspect of this project is the cerusing method for the finish. It is a multi step process which includes wire brushing the grain, sanding, staining and glazing finishing with a clear coat. The biggest challenge was concealing the lighting in the upper cabinetry so that it did not reflect in the mirror. We created a custom trim piece to resolve this issue.
