Our main goal was to give this family room as much space as possible. Built in gas fireplace comes quite deep which pushes the cabinets out. We made the wall unit in two levels to keep the base and the center panel deeper and have the upper cabinets recessed. It gave the wall unit a nicer character. Also, we used quite large and very sleek custom wood posts. To give more open look we used clear bevelled glass for the uppers and all other uppers where left as open shelves. Around the fireplace we used marble stone to add more natural details. Also upper cabinet where made in two different depth to add more details to the overall design.
