Describe, in detail, the project/item's construction
The homeowners envisioned their dream kitchen for this project when the time came to remodel their home. The theme was a commitment to formal style, a classic white painted finish on flush inset cabinetry.
The dark stained oak floor in combination with good natural light in the kitchen provided a clean palette for white cabinetry and contrasting finishes. Tall ceilings allowed for the height needed to build a custom wood hood surround. The double-stacked upper cabinets include glass doors with wood mullions. Lower cabinetry contains spice pull outs and a Lazy Susan with full extension.

What is the most unusual aspect or outstanding characteristic of this entry?
During my initial consultation with the homeowner, she showed me a picture she found in a design magazine of an “armoire” built-in refrigerator design. I used this inspiration as a starting point to design her a custom built-in unit for her kitchen. This unit became one of the marquee elements of the overall design. It features a barrel-arched top with radius crown moulding, a counter-depth refrigerator with matching appliance panels, arched soft-close doors and exposed, European butt hinges.
Other unique elements in this kitchen include a bumped-out apron front sink cabinet with decorative toe moulding, a custom wood hood surround with raised panel mantel detail, low voltage interior LED lighting throughout, and many unique storage components like Hafele’s full extension corner called the Lemans II.
