Briefly describe your business and the type of products manufactured.
Bench-made custom, luxury cabinetry and millwork.
What materials/species were used in this project/item?
Cherry and Painted Poplar
Describe, in detail, the project/item's construction.
Traditional inset cabinetry, with raised panel doors; The hot wall cabinetry and island are of virgin cherry finished with all waterborne Chemcraft finishes, including stains, dry glazes, and catalyzed lacquers. The painted cabinets are finished with an opaque catalyzed lacquer, a pinstripe waterborne glaze, and sealed with a waterborne sealer. Every component, including doors, drawers, and even molding, was created by the craftsmen in our workshop.
What is the most unusual aspect or outstanding characteristic of this entry?
This "Fire and Ice" kitchen is colored to reflect the "walls" of cabinetry, with the hot wall being a deep red, and the wet wall (which also houses the freezer (out of view) is white as ice. It's completely water based finishing, while still maintaining the depth, warm, and clarity of a solvent finish - The new cherry already looks 100 years old!
