Survey asks shop owners about the current state of the industryThe Cabinet Makers Association (CMA), in conjunction with Woodworking Network, requests that small- and medium-sized shop owners complete their 2019 Benchmark Survey. Their answers will provide a clearer picture of the woodworking industry in the U.S. and Canada, while also helping other shops have a better idea of where they stand in relation to the rest of the industry.
This annual survey is designed to establish benchmarks for the industry. In doing so, the survey explores business outlook, staffing and compensation, shop rates, CNC automation, construction methods, and marketing. On the demographic side, the survey paints a portrait of where shops are located, number of employees, and what kind of work they do. All participants are eligible to be entered in a drawing for a free power tool, and they will also receive a copy of the full survey data. An overview of the results is published in the December issue of FDMC Magazine. Individual survey responses are kept strictly confidential regarding the participant’s name and company. For those who have contributed in the past, the 2019 questions have been streamlined so it should take less time to finish. The survey is open until 12:00 AM on November 1, 2019. Their fully stainless-steel construction makes it compatible with most materials. They can be used in paint kitchens for circulation to maintain a constant temperature for each color or for direct heating to increase the temperature of the paint just before the application.
The MAGMA Heaters will optimize the heating of fluid materials. Their modular design makes it possible to replace the lower fluid body without changing the electrical modules eliminating the need to purchase a completely new heater. As an option, the MAGMA heaters can also heat the atomizing air for faster drying times and increase finish quality in Airmix® or Airspray applications. The Desktop MAX ATC has all of the same capabilities of the popular Desktop MAX but has the additional power and efficiency of an Automatic Tool Changer (ATC). Like their other desktop tools, it utilizes a unique frame and bed design (36”x 24” cutting area) which is completely open underneath.
