Since 2009, Copper Canyon Millworks has been providing the greater Phoenix-area and state of Arizona with custom cabinetry for projects of many different sizes. Describe the project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.
There’s definitely more than meets the eye for this unique home bar. We worked closely with the client, a former military contractor, to design and engineer a bar that served as a functional beverage center while standing guard if things go south. The client wanted a custom concealment shelf for a rifle, immediately accessible. The frameless cabinets are constructed of paint grade alder, with Blum full-extension soft-close slides and full-overlay soft-close hinges. We were able to incorporate plenty of storage space, yet still accommodate multiple beverage coolers, and a keg/tap. We chose a floating box shelf for this design and engineered a concealment shelf, mounted at optimum height. The firearm is embedded in foam mounted to the base of the floating shelf. The shelf is activated with Stabilus gas struts and secured with a one-touch latching mechanism. The final touches include LED under-cabinet lighting and a large crown profile.
