Describe your project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.

This space has a warm, comfortable feel to it. We used clear alder with a slightly darker finish, which really brings out the wood without making it too heavy, and carried that through cabinetry built with custom angled bases, beaded doors, and double casing on the shelves, giving it more of a furniture look instead of a typical built-in. It all comes together in a way that feels balanced. The wood tones, the lighter backing behind the desk, and the deeper colors in the furniture create a natural contrast that keeps the room from feeling flat. It leans toward a transitional style, but still has its own personality.
