Mark Richey Woodworking (MRW) builds and installs high-end architectural millwork around the country. The MRW team is made up of craftspeople with a passion for quality, tradition and innovation. MRW is a minority and women owned business (MWBE, DBE) Their entire 130,000sf facility is powered 100% by solar, wind and a biomass furnace.

Describe the project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.

These unique "ribbed" benches are built from Alaskan Yellow Cedar. The complex benches were first modeled in the computer, then each unique part was machined on a five-axis router. The individual ribs were assembled by hand and attached to the steel superstructure hidden within. Each rib is logged and numbered in the computer should any repairs be needed.
