Describe your project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.

This kitchen was part of a full remodel of a 100-year-old estate home, where the goal was to create something that felt true to the era without being a period reproduction. We built inset face frame cabinetry with a high-gloss painted perimeter and a walnut island, using the contrast between the two finishes to anchor the room. Throughout the perimeter, we used exposed hinges paired with traditional ice box hinges and latches, old-world details that bring authenticity to the cabinetry and signal the craftsmanship behind it. A custom hood serves as the focal point of the cooking wall, flanked by built-in spice and oil niches that keep daily essentials within reach without breaking the clean lines of the design. One of the hidden highlights of this kitchen is a pair of cabinet doors that function as pocket doors, opening to reveal a fully equipped coffee bar tucked behind them. The walnut island, with its furniture-style base and paneled ends, grounds the room and provides natural warmth against the brightness of the painted perimeter.
