Describe your project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.
This custom bar and wine room sits at the heart of a full basement remodel, where the client wanted the feel of an old English pub. Built entirely from walnut, the cabinetry layers detail at every elevation. Custom crotch veneer panels framed by inset beaded openings on the bar front, partially fluted columns with carved rosette capitals at each bay, and a continuous band of alternating reeds and carved rosettes wrapping the top of the bar. Custom molded panels and base detailing carry the same vocabulary down to the floor, so every angle rewards a closer look. Behind the bar, a mirrored back wall with brass shelving and integrated lighting reinforces the traditional pub feel. The standout feature is a fully radiused walnut wine display, built as a series of true curved shelves configured to hold standard bottles, magnums, and larger formats together on full presentation. The wine cellar opens off the bar and is visible through a glass wall set into the back bar, so the curved display reads as part of the experience whether you're seated for a drink or browsing for a bottle. Custom lighting was integrated throughout to accentuate the veneer figuring, the carved details, and the curve of the wine feature.
