2026 Wood Diamond Award Commercial: Hospitality Fairfield Woodworks First Place

We are a 60 year old Custom cabinet and Millwork shop. We do mostly residential custom cabinets and have several customers we do Commercial hospitality lobbies and spaces. 

Describe your project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.

This project was very unique and challenging for the following reasons. The applied White Oak wainscoting 11' high with symmetrical arched flutes all the way around the room. The large arched opening was approximately 10' wide and 10'. This was wrapped in white oak veneer and transported in pieces and was assembled onsite. There were smaller fluted trim applied in several other areas in the room. The white Oak was finished by us using Rubio Mono coat. We also did the green coffee bar cabinetry and reception desk surrounds.

List any components that were outsourced.

We outsourced the cabinet doors and drawer boxes on the cabinets. The small fluted trim was also outsourced. Everything else was done in house.
