2026 Wood Diamond Award Kitchen: Frameless (71+ linear feet) Colorado Cabinet Makers First Place

Colorado Cabinet Makers is a small custom cabinet shop located in Loveland, Colorado. James & Tracey, the owners, along with Sterling and Holly handle the business and design. In the shop 11 talented and dedicated woodworkers make the sawdust and the magic. Colorado Cabinet Makers control most of the installations to keep quality control of the projects. Very little is outsourced while creating a wide variety of quality residential cabinetry and millwork. James has been a member of the Cabinet Makers Association for many years.

Describe your project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.

David, from Fort Collins, Colorado contracted Colorado Cabinet Makers to build a completely custom kitchen with matching walk-through pantry. His forever home called for a black walnut semi-traditional design with all the bells and whistles. A rich blue painted island complemented the natural walnut finish. Full cope & pattern applied cabinet ends and appliance panels filled out the cabinetry nicely. Turned legs added to the traditional timeless design. A matching china hutch with mullioned glass doors and accenting wallpaper backing helped the cabinetry transition into the eating nook. Blum Aventos HK door lifts, Hafele LOOX under cabinet, interior cabinet LED lighting and under cabinet toekick lighting added to the design. The base cabinets were sized to accommodate a 5/4 solid wood parting bead and scalloped cabinet feet. Topped with a beveled shaker crown moulding and buildup, completed the kitchen and pantry. The functional hardware throughout is Blum Tandems and soft close Blum hinges. Rev-a-Shelf drawer organizers and mixer lift were also included.
